ITEM SUMMARY:
• Ovation Academy will produce a Shakespeare in the Park event May 14-16 with a production of Romeo and Juliet.
• Ovation’s Summer Series will consist of six productions: two large musicals; two small musicals and two stage plays along with weekly camps that will take place during July and August 2021.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Ovation Academy School of Performing Arts provides onsite training in the disciplines of Dance, Acting, Musical Theatre and Theatrical Production and Design.
• Additionally, students are also trained in the business of being a professional artist and the life-skills needed to succeed in the industry.
• Ovation believes in a “whole-istic” approach to learning.
• Ovation offers a Conservatory Academy for students in grades 6-12; a Homeschool Program for students grades K-12; and After-Hours Community Outreach programs for ages 3 to adult.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MCDC’s allocation for FY 20 Cycle I Promotional and Community Event grants is $100,000.
• MCDC provided Promotional and Community Event grants totaling $9,000 in FY 20 for Advertising, Marketing and Promotion of the 2020 performances.
