RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• This Resolution authorizes a change order of $60,000 to the $1,900,000 design/build contract with Dean Construction Inc. for an amount not to exceed $1,900,000.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• An additional $60,000 of design funding is required to relocate the skatepark within the Gabe Nesbitt Community Park.
• The Guaranteed Maximum Price will remain at $1,900,000. The change order of $60,000 will reduce the construction budget from $1,667,000 to $1,607,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• A contract was awarded to Dean Construction Inc for $1,900,000 in January 2010 to provide design/build services related to the design and construction of the McKinney Skatepark located in Gabe Nesbitt Community Park.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Current funding for this contract is available in the Capital Improvements Program, project PK1214.
• This Resolution authorizes a change order of $60,000 to be deducted from construction funds and placed in design funds.
