ITEM SUMMARY:

The Department of Energy, through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program, granted the City of McKinney $82,500 to develop a Water Conservation and Marketing Plan.

After reviewing six RFQ submittals, the selection team ranked CP&Y, Inc. as the most qualified applicant.

The purpose of the Plan is to reduce water consumption across the City, preserving water resources and also reducing the amount of energy required to collect and distribute both potable water and wastewater.

o                     Inform residents and businesses about what activities positively or adversely impact water supply and energy use.

o                     Build a coalition of advocates and partnerships with McKinney businesses, corporations, schools, churches, and neighborhoods.

o                     Build awareness through targeted messaging.

o                     Develop synergy with North Texas Municipal Water District’s (NTMWD) Water IQ and other regional water conservation campaign efforts to collaborate on a regional creative message.
