ITEM SUMMARY:

The Heritage Guild of Collin County is requesting a grant in the amount of $50,000 for improvements to the Dulaney Cottage located at 307 S. Chestnut.

The Dulaney Cottage supports cultural events that attract residents and visitors to McKinney’s Chestnut Square.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The 140 year old, wood frame cottage is deteriorating to the point that the second story has been removed from tours.  There has been repeated infestation of wildlife and the structure has not been properly protected from the elements.  Over the years this has created massive amounts of mold, rot and damage, both inside and out.

This request is to help fund the necessary repairs to the exterior and interior of the structure.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

Eligible for MCDC consideration under Sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code.

See attached Grant Application for fund details.
