RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Approve the amended policy

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

 

                     This resolution would amend the City’s existing policy on Board and Commission Member Appointments and Eligibility by reducing term limits from three (3) consecutive two-year terms to two (2) consecutive two-year terms; and by modifying the candidate interview process to allow all candidates to appear before the full Council rather than the Council Liaison(s) of the respective board(s) to which they have applied to serve.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

 

                     The City’s Policy on Board and Commission Member Appointments and Eligibility provides guidance on various aspects of membership requirements, appointment process, and service to the city. The policy was last amended August 3, 2021 as Resolution 2021-08-090(R).
