RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of the Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance will establish a speed limit of 40 mph on Bloomdale Road from US 75 to Shawnee Drive.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• Construction of Bloomdale Road between US 75 and Shawnee Drive has been completed and the roadway has been open to traffic.
• The factors considered when developing a recommendation for a speed limit include the design speed and the existing speed limit along other sections of the same roadway.
• The design speed of Bloomdale Road is 45 mph.
• The existing speed limit on Bloomdale Road from Shawnee Road to FM 543 is 40 mph.
• Establishing the speed limit on Bloomdale Road from US 75 to Shawnee Drive at 40 mph will keep the speed limit consistent along the entire length of this roadway.
