ITEM SUMMARY:

                     On August 3, 2015, the City Council amended the Policy relative to the appointment process and service on boards and commissions, resignation for certain candidates, the application process, and annual consideration of appointed members.

 

                     The City Council has directed staff to provide an amendment to clarify the Council's removal authority irrespective of the annual appointment process.

 

                     The City Council has directed staff to add a provision related to consideration of membership if a member uses his/her position inappropriately in another public forum contrary to Section IV (e) of the policy.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The City Council adopted and amended the policy on Board and Commission Member Appointment and Eligibility on July 21, 2009, August 17, 2009, May 24, 2010, June 15, 2010, October 4, 2011, June 4, 2013, September 17, 2013, September 14, 2014, June 8, 2015, July 21, 2015, and August 3, 2015.
