ITEM SUMMARY: 

 

                     This Resolution is to authorize  renovations of the University Pump Station building, including upgrade of the current IT room housing the servers and SCADA system, software upgrades, installation of security cameras and access badge readers, internal and external renovations to accommodate the 16 staff members housed in that location.

                     This item authorizes the expenditure of $358,000 for the renovations of University Pump Station.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

 

                     University Pump Station houses the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system that monitors and controls the water system operation for the entire City of McKinney.

                     The Building needs renovations to provide proper and secure spacing for the SCADA equipment and the staff that monitors and controls the system.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

 

                     This project will be funded from the savings in the Capital Improvements Program WA6116  ($822,790) - University Pump Station 10 MG GST.

                     The cost of the renovations is $358,000. 

                     There will be approximately $465,000 remaining in the CIP WA6116 Project after the cost of the renovations to the University Pump Station.
