ITEM SUMMARY:
* Various items relating to the 2024 Charter Commission's charge remain outstanding and require further discussion/direction by the City Council to properly draft charter amendment ordinance language.
* The 2024 Charter Commission presented their Charter Commission Report to the City Council on July 23, 2024, after they met over the course of the Summer to review a charge from the City Council to research current Council terms, composition, compensation, and other misc. items.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* January 16, 2024 - City Staff and City Attorney reported on charter items during a City Council Work Session.
* May 7, 2024 - City Staff reported to City Council on the process and timeline of establishing a Charter review Commission.
* May 21, 2024 - City Council appointed a 21-member Charter Commission and charged the commission to review and research Council terms, composition, compensation, and other misc. items.
* May 29, 2024 - The 2024 Charter Commission held their first meeting to discuss Council term limits.
* June 12, 2024 - The 2024 Charter Commission held their second meeting to discuss Council composition as well as preference the Commission's stance on Council term limits.
* June 26, 2024 - The 2024 Charter Commission held their third meeting to discuss Council Compensation as well as preference the Commission's stance on Council composition.
