RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
·      Approve Resolution affirming McKinney Arts Commission recommendation to redirect $2,763 in unspent funds from FY13 Arts Commission budget to the FY14 Public Art Fund.     
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      The City Council allocated $185,000 to the McKinney Arts Commission for FY13, of which $12,000 were for the Public Art Fund. The Arts Commission has $2,763 in unspent funds remaining from the FY13 allocation.
·      No funds were requested by the Arts Commission for the Public Art Fund for FY14.
·      The Arts Commission is requesting redirection of the FY13 remaining funds ($2,763) to the FY14 Public Art Fund.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
·      On 11/5/13, a Resolution was approved by Council revising the Public Art program.  This resolution states that "any unspent funds allocated annually to the Arts Commission for support of the Arts in McKinney may be redirected to the Public Art Fund".
·      For FY14, City Council approved a reappropriation to Grants for the Community of $39,599 of which $2,763 was unspent Arts Commission funds.  
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
·      $2,763 will be redirected from the FY13 Grants to the Community - McKinney Arts Commission to the FY14 Public Art Fund.
 
BOARD AND COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
·      The McKinney Arts Commission met on March 25, 2014 and voted to recommend the redirection of unspent FY13 Arts Commission funds to FY14, the Public Art Fund.
