RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approve the resolution

ITEM SUMMARY:
* City Council approved the original resolution of participation on March 7, 2017 for participation under the North Texas Housing Assessment Collaborative. In July, 2017, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development issued new data required to be used in the preparation of the Affirmatively Further Fair Housing (AFFH) Assessment. Viewpoint of new data requirement means additional time and cost is required to ensure accuracy for the increased volume of work required for the city's benefit and to meet requirements.
* The new timeline will be revised from January 2018 to June 2018 to incorporate new data (local and census). Entities under the agreement pay only their pro-rata share of the cost; McKinney's share will not exceed $1,036. McKinney residents and leaders will continue 2nd round of public meetings to get updates on data and give input toward the final draft.
