· Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution authorizes a contract with Civil Consulting Group, PLLC, to provide consulting engineering and urban design services for the Historic Town Center Infrastructure Phase 2 Project for an amount not to exceed $550,000
· The project includes the following elements:
o Paving, drainage, utility, and streetscape improvements on:
o Virginia Street from McDonald Street to Tennessee Street
o Kentucky Street from Hunt Street to Virginia Street
o Kentucky Street from Louisiana Street to Davis Street
o Traffic signal at the intersection of McDonald Street and Virginia Street
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Engineering firms submitted qualification information in response to a Request for Qualifications of firms interested in the design of Historic Town Center Infrastructure Projects.
· Three firms were asked to present their qualifications for the Historic Town Center Infrastructure Phase 2 Project. The three firms presented information to representatives of the Planning Department and Engineering Department.
· Through this process Civil Consulting Group, PLLC, was identified as the most qualified consultant to perform the required services.
· Civil Consulting Group is a local firm with their primary office located in McKinney. Their proposed project team is experienced in both engineering and urban design principles necessary for this project.
· A proposal for the engineering and urban design services necessary for this project has been received from Civil Consulting Group in the amount of $515,081.31.
