ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     McKinney Community Development Corporation will conduct a public hearing on a request from the Parks and Recreation Department to reallocate funds from the Parks Umbrella Fund in the amount of $520,000 to the Recreation Center at Towne Lake to complete various facility enhancements.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The MCDC approved $5,500,000 in funding in FY20-21 for various park projects.

                     Included in the funds awarded was an $820,000 in Umbrella Fund for reallocation to various projects as needed.

                     To fund additional facility upgrades at the Rec Center at Towne Lake, additional funds are needed.  If approved, the $520,000 reallocation to PK4397 Recreation Center at Towne Lake will be used for updates to restrooms, fitness area, furniture, finishes, offices and front service desk. 

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

                     This request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code.

                     These projects promote parks and park developments that will enhance the quality of life for McKinney residents.
