ITEM SUMMARY:

TxDOT is not granting extensions of unused URB2020 funds and has requested that unused funds be returned for reallocation.

Staff is recommending returning $337,036 of URB2020 unspent TxDOT funds, retaining $100,000.

URB1902 funds of $459,079 will be utilized through August 31, 2020.

The additional $100,000 will be used to offer reduced fare service pilot and pay for a transit needs assessment

Fares have been fixed at 75/25 since inception of program. Feedback from residents is that program is still too expensive for many

Study will show fare rate and service model that can be sustained with current grant allocations

Proposal still funds current program and would also fund reduced fare and transit needs assessment.
