ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution authorizes a supplemental agreement to a contract with Freese and Nichols, Inc. (FNI), to provide consulting engineering services for the design of Intersection Improvements to Custer Road at Stacy Road and Custer Road at Fountain View Drive.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* FNI is currently under contract for engineering design services of intersection improvements for Custer Road at Stonebridge Drive and Community Avenue at Wilmeth Road.
* FNI submitted a response to RFQ 13-09 for Minor Roadway Design. They were one of ten firms shortlisted by City Council on February 5, 2013.
* The improvements to the intersection of Community Avenue and Wilmeth Road cannot be constructed this year due to the acquisition of right of way and the desire to complete the improvements over the summer so as not to impact McKinney North High School operations.
* The improvements to Custer Road at Stonebridge Drive need to occur this year to minimize the impacts of the Custer Road widening project being conducted by the City of Frisco beginning in late 2016.
* Staff has identified additional improvements needed along Custer Road to improve mobility and reduce congestion. These improvements can be designed in a timely manner and be included in the bid package for the Custer ...
