RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: Approve Ordinance, as required by the McKinney City Charter

ITEM SUMMARY: The Special Recall Election is to determine whether Council Member La'Shadion Shemwell will be removed from or remain in office for the remainder of term. Council Member Shemwell was elected to a four-year term in 2017. This recall election is mandated as the result of a petition, submitted by registered voters of the city, which met the requirements prescribed by state and local law.

The Ordinance provides for the following:

* Election information will be properly noticed in English and Spanish languages and in accordance with the requirements of the Texas Election Code

* Schedule and locations for Election Day Voting:

Saturday, May 2, 2020 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
