REMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:  Approve Resolution and Appoint Liaisons to the McKinney Housing Authority
ITEM SUMMARY:
·      On June 4, 2013, the City Council approved changes to the Policy on Board and Commission Member Appointment and Eligibility
·      The Mayor has suggested changes to the current policy that include:
o      Changing all Board terms to two year terms
o      Increasing term limits to three full two year terms
o      Adding a requirement for applicants to be registered voters
o      Removing the one year waiting period for a member to be appointed to another Board
o      Amending the attendance requirement
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
·      The City Council adopted an amended the policy on Board and Commission Member Appointment and Eligibility on July 21, 2009, August 17, 2009, May 24, 2010, June 15, 2010, October 4, 2011, and June 4, 2013.
