ITEM SUMMARY:
• Establishment of a bike share program is a priority for the MCDC board.
• Parks and Recreation Director Michael Kowski will present options for creating a bike share program in McKinney and seek input from McKinney Community Development Corporation board members
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The MCDC board identified creation of a bike share program as a priority in FY 16.
• MCDC budgeted $60,000 for funding the initial establishment of a bike share program in the FY18 budget.
• Research has been undertaken to look at several options and determine the best structure and program to meet resident interests and needs in McKinney.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The request is eligible for MCDC consideration under Sections 501 to 505 of the Texas Local Government Code.
• The project would promote parks, trails and park facilities in the City of McKinney and enhance the quality of life for McKinney residents.
