ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Ordinance amends the Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Annual Budget by appropriating $38,977 from fund balance in the General Fund to be used for the creation of the Parking Enforcement Officer positions to be under the City Marshal’s supervision.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• From 2005 through 2012, the City enforced parking violations in the Historic Downtown. The enforcement was to ensure that citizens and visitors to the area had parking and easy access to businesses near the square, as well as the enforcement of other parking violations occurring in the area.
• This ordinance is to resume the enforcement program and under the direction of the City Marshal.
• Two part-time parking enforcement officers will be assigned to the City Marshal.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• The Fiscal Year 2015-2016 Annual Budget will be amended by appropriating $38,977 from fund balance in the General Fund.
