RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution awards contracts to 4-D Property Maintenance, GenX Lawn Care, DWW Landscaping, Weisz Selection and Newell Total Lawn Care to provide mowing and grounds maintenance services to the City of McKinney on an as needed basis.
· Contracts shall commence on date of award and continue for a one (1) year period with four (4) one year renewal options.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· The City of McKinney issued an invitation to bid (13-06SC) for mowing and grounds maintenance, in February 2013.
· Bid opening of 13-06SC was held on February 21, 2013.
· Total of twelve (12) bids were received.
· A committee of three staff members from the Parks Administration and Code Compliance departments reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:
o Purchase Price
o Reputation of the bidder and of the bidder's goods and/or services
o Equipment
· The committee recommends best value award to:
o 4-D Property Maintenance of Nevada, TX for Medians
o GenX Lawn Care of Frisco, TX for Right of Ways and Water Towers and Pump Stations
o DWW Landscaping of McKinney, TX for Parks
o Weisz Selection of Celina, TX for Fire and Public Safety
o Newell Total Lawn Care of Frisco, TX for Code Compliance
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Funding is available in various City accounts and shall be used as needed for the jobs that may arise during this contract period.
