RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
- MCVB Staff recommends that the City Council approve the proposed resolution amending the FY 12-13 Annual Budget to fund one additional Part Time Staff Assistant position at the MCVB.
- City Manager recommends denial of this request.
ITEM SUMMARY:
- The MCVB Department is requesting that the City Council approve an amendment to the Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Annual Budget which will fund one additional part-time staff assistant position.
- The addition of the part-time staff assistant will enable the MCVB to be open on Saturdays as well as assist in the office when other staff members are out on sales calls and/or meetings.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
- Because of an increase in walk-in traffic at the MCVB visitors' center and the need to open on Saturdays, the creation of a part-time staff position is needed.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
- Position cost for the remainder of FY 12-13: $4,410
- Annual recurring cost for future fiscal year budgets: $12,900
- The funding of this additional part-time position will result in a line item within the MCVB Fund.

- The MCVB board recommends that Council approve the proposed resolution amending the FY 12-13 Annual Budget to fund one additional Part Time Staff Assistant Position.
