ITEM SUMMARY:
• TUPPS Brewery is providing an update on the progress and goals of the redevelopment project at the Hill-Web Grain Elevator Site.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Hill-Webb Grain Elevator was listed on the National Register of Historic Properties with the City’s Multiple Property Listing Nomination in 1987.
• The site has been underutilized for some time.
• The Grain Elevator structure succumbed to fire in January 2008.
• The city purchased the land for redevelopment prior to October 2020.
• The city sold the land to the McKinney Community Development Corporation in October 2020. The parcel of land on which the 1935 era Feed Store structure was located is separate from the TUPPS project. The feed store structure was demolished in June 2022.
• A site plan for the development of the majority of the site for use by McKinney’s TUPPS brewery was approved in 2021.
