· Approval of the Resolution
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution authorizes the execution of an Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) for the temporary closure of the northbound east lane of Custer Road (FM 2478) between Collin McKinney Parkway and Stacy Road for three special events.
· The temporary lane closure will begin approximately thirty minutes before the special event starts for the day and the lane will be reopened to traffic at the conclusion of each event.
· Each temporary lane closure is estimated to extend for four hours.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Cooper Fitness Center submitted an application for a special event permit with the City of McKinney for three Sprint Triathlons in 2014; May 17, July 19, and September 13.
· The bicycle course of each triathlon begins and ends at Cooper Fitness Center with a portion of the race course on northbound Custer Road between Collin McKinney Parkway and Stacy Road.
· A temporary closure along state right of way requires an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Funds for setup of these events are available in the operating budget of Public Works.
