RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Resolution.

ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution establishes the times for the reduced speed school zones at Furr Elementary School for the 2022 summer school sessions.
* On May 16, Prosper Independent School District informed McKinney of a last-minute change to hold in-person summer school at Furr Elementary School campus within McKinney.
* The summer session at Furr Elementary School began May 31, 2022 and will end June 23, 2022. School will be in session from 8:00 am to 2:45 pm Monday through Friday.
* Staff moved forward with the installation of all summer school signage and school flasher reprograming to meet the timeframe of the summer session at Furr Elementary School that began on May 31, 2022.
* For arrival, the reduced speed school zone will be effective beginning 45 minutes before the beginning of the summer session for the day and end 15 minutes after the beginning of school. For dismissal, the reduced speed school zone will be effective 15 minutes before the dismissal of the summer session for the day and will end 45 minutes after dismissal of school. The active times for the summer school speed zones are consistent with the durations used during the regular school year.
