ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution authorizes a fixed price contract with Boundtree Medical to provide EMS medical supplies and medications.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· The City of McKinney issued an Invitation for Bid (15-32FP) for EMS Medical Supplies and Medications in January 2015.
· Bids for 15-32FP were received on January 29, 2015.
· A total of eight (8) bids were received.
· A committee of five city employees reviewed and ranked the bids based on the following criteria:
o Purchase Price
o Delivery
o Reputation of the Bidder and of Bidders' goods or services
o Quality of Bidders' goods and services
· The evaluation team recommends Boundtree Medical as the best value for both the City of McKinney and the McKinney Fire Department.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Supplies utilized by the Fire Department to provide medical service to the community are funded in the FY-15 operating budget, account number 001-3224-423-8107, in the amount of $135,566. This account is for chemical, medical and surgical supplies. Specifically, $98,000 is budgeted for the purpose of disposable patient care supplies.
· All medications utilized by the McKinney Fire Department for patient care are funded in the FY-15 Operating budget. The account is Pharmaceutical Supplies number 001-3224-423-8112 in the amount of $35,000.
