ITEM SUMMARY:
·      This Resolution authorizes a contract amendment with Kleinfelder for construction materials testing services related to the completion of construction of the Tennis Complex at Gabe Nesbitt Park.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
·      The City Council has previously authorized a contract for construction materials testing services for the Tennis Complex at Gabe Nesbitt Park, for an amount not to exceed $35,000.
·      The amount of this contract was based on construction material testing requirements for similar past projects.
·      During the course of construction additional construction material testing was required for the following reasons:
o      Additional earthwork testing during moisture conditioning of the soil.
o      Additional concrete testing was necessary due to the contractor dividing the construction into smaller segments resulting in additional concrete pours.
·      A proposal for the additional testing has been received from Kleinfelder in the amount of $14,943.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
·      This Resolution authorizes a contract amendment for material testing provided by Kleinfelder, adding $14,943 to their contract.
·      Funding for this contract amendment is available in the Capital Improvements Program within the current budget for the Tennis Complex (PK5029).
