* Approval of the Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Ordinance will modify the time period of the reduced speed zone along Jordan Road for the Imagine Charter School.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* On August 12, 2014 Imagine Charter School Staff informed McKinney Engineering Staff their intention to use a staggered arrival and dismissal times for the 2014-2015 school year. This will create two drop-off and pick-up time periods; one for lower grades K-5 and one for the upper grades 6-10.
* Imagine Charter School will also have an early release every Wednesday during the school year.
* This Ordinance adjusts the time periods for the reduced speed zone to cover both drop-off and pick-up time periods established by the school.
* The effective time for the school zones are established as follows:
? The morning school zone will be effective 30 minutes before the beginning of lower school attendance period and end 15 minutes after arrival time of the upper school. The reduced speed school zone will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. school days.
? The afternoon school zone will be effective 15 minutes before the end of lower school attendance period and end 30 minutes after dismissal time of the upper school. The reduced speed school zone will be in effect from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday school days. On Wednesday school days, the reduced speed school zone will be in effect from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
