ITEM SUMMARY:
• The City of McKinney provides School Resource Officers (SRO) to the Frisco Independent School District (FISD).
• The contract outlines the following cost sharing arrangement for FISD:
o One (1) Officer at 50% of step 7 salary/benefits
o One (1) pursuit vehicle at 50% of depreciation
• The contract allows for an automatic one-year renewal with updated salary/benefit rates.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The 2015-16 agreement provided for 50% of one (1) SRO’s salary/benefits without vehicle depreciation.
• The vehicle depreciation was calculated on a six year life expectancy of a $60,000 fully equipped police pursuit vehicle.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• FISD will pay the contract amount of $57,657 for the 2016-17 School Resource Officer Program.
