RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     Approve resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

•                     As the 82nd State Legislative Session prepares to begin, it is crucial that the City of McKinney be clear and decisive about its position on key matters that will be discussed and or voted upon. By adopting a Legislative Agenda, a clear message will be sent to the Legislators regarding the City’s position on the issues that most impact our community.

 

•                     There are three major areas in which staff will monitor as the session moves forward: Transportation; Economic Development; and Public Safety.

•                     On January 4, 2011 Council discussed changes to the proposed agenda.
