ITEM SUMMARY:
· Beginning in 2008, the City of McKinney Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB) established the “Preserve Historic McKinney - Home Recognition Program” to recognize property owners who have revitalized our historic residential community by making significant exterior improvements to their individual properties. This program is not a grant or funding program. It simply recognizes the outstanding efforts of individual property owners and seeks to encourage future individual reinvestment in the historic residential community.

· Between November 2011 and January 2012, McKinney residents were asked to identify and nominate residential properties that are located in the Historic Neighborhood Improvement Zone and that meet the general evaluation criteria outlined in the attached document.

· In April, the HPAB reviewed all of the nominations and selected 14 properties to be recognized in the promotional calendar. Since that time, HPAB Members and Staff have been working diligently to solicit sponsors, take photographs, research historical information, and layout the calendars.

· The following 14 properties are featured in the calendar:

o Amy Rippy - 306 S. Waddill Street
o Charles P. Drew - 503 W. Hunt Street

o Timothy J. Bagger - 201 N. College Street
o Option One Mortgage Corp. - 305 S. Waddill Street
o Tom & Mary Capps - 308 N. Church Street
