RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
·      Approval of the Ordinance
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      This Ordinance authorizes the addition of $255,124 from the Park Development Fund - Zone 3 fund balance to CIP Project PK5029 - Tennis Complex.
·      With previous actions and administrative transfers this Budget Amendment will bring the total project costs of CIP Project PK5029 - Tennis Complex, to $3,755,124.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
·      Upon approval of this proposed budget amendment, the Total Project Budget for CIP Project PK5029 will be $3,755,124.
·      Bids on the construction costs have been received by Pogue Construction, the Construction Manager, and exceed the originally estimated cost of construction by $262,489. A separate agenda item recommends awarding a contract amendment for the Guaranteed Maximum Price to Pogue Construction.
·      Value-engineering has been completed and brings the total construction cost to $3,235,224 and the total project cost to not exceed $3,755,124.  Additional cost savings for this project will continue to be explored and evaluated.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
·      This Ordinance authorizes a CIP budget amendment, transferring $255,124 from the Park Development Fund - Zone 3 fund balance to the Tennis Complex Project (PK5029)
 
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
·      On May 12, 2011, the Parks, Recreation and Open Space Advisory Board recommended to City Council that these funds be transferred.
