RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
·      Approval of Resolution for acceptance and implementation of grant award.
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      The UASI program focuses on enhancing regional security preparedness in major metropolitan areas.
·      Staff requests approval to accept and implement grant award of $15,750 in UASI grant funding for the enhancement of an existing CBRNE/SWAT vehicle to further protect the safety of citizens and responders during tactical operations.
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
·      The acquisition of the CBRNE/SWAT vehicle was made possible through at FY2006 SHSP grant.
·      Since the acquisition, the vehicle has been utilized on several occasions by McKinney Police, Collin County Sheriff's Office, Allen, Plano and Wylie; McKinney Police has conducted several trainings.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
·      The grant will provide $15,750 for the enhancement of an existing CBRNE/SWAT vehicle.
·      There is no match requirement.
