ITEM SUMMARY:

This item was tabled from the April 3rd meeting.

This Resolution authorizes the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Collin County to provide for the maintenance of various mutual boundary roads between Collin County and the City of McKinney.

This Resolution will be effective October 1, 2018 and will expire on September 30, 2022

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The current Interlocal Agreement was effective October 1, 2014 and will expire on September 30, 2018.

Collin County and the City of McKinney work together to establish the needs maintenance for the shared boundary roads.

Based on the type of road surfaces and associated maintenance, it has been more cost effective and efficient for the City to reimburse the County for cost of the work performed on the segments of roadway that are the jurisdiction of the City. This mutual effort provides for a more consistent road surface.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY:

FY 18 budget included $90,000 for the cost of maintenance of the mutual boundary roads.

Funding will be included in the FY19 budget to cover the shared cost for the mutual boundary road maintenance for FY19.
