ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Police Department received approval to install Flock Automated License Plate Recognition Cameras throughout the City of McKinney at preselected locations. The Department is seeking to enter into a multi-use agreement with TxDOT in order to install a set number of cameras in TxDOT right-of-ways to maximize the coverage area of the available cameras. Flock Safety will be performing the installation services if approved.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City of McKinney signed a contract and master services agreement with Flock Safety for the installation and operation of 13 Flock Automated License Plate Recognition Cameras in an effort to increase available resources for criminal investigations following the commission of a crime. The McKinney Police Department identified key locations throughout McKinney for the installation of these cameras including several TxDOT rights-of-way. This agreement will allow the final cameras to be installed and operational.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• A Purchase Order (541126) was issued on 12/4/2024 for the purchase, installation, and operation of 13 Flock Safety Automated License Plate Recognition Cameras in the amount of $49,650.00. No other costs will be associated with the TxDOT installation.
