RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:      
·      Approval of Resolution for acceptance and implementation of grant award.
 
ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      The UASI program focuses on enhancing regional security preparedness in major metropolitan areas.
·      Staff requests approval to accept and implement grant award of $53,611.84 in UASI grant funding to purchase a 3D Crime Scene Laser Scanner to allow first responders to document large scale crime scene events and more accurately document all crime scene events
 
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  
·      The 3D Crime Scene Scanner image is transferrable between jurisdictions so that all involved jurisdictions receive the same information at the same time.
·      The crime scene documentation captured by the scanner is standardized and removes the subjectivity of the responder recording the scene.
 
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:  
·      The grant will provide $53,611.84 for the purchase of a 3D Crime Scene Laser Scanner.
·      The City of McKinney will be responsible for funding maintenance of the equipment.
·       There is no match requirement.
