ITEM SUMMARY:  
·      General Election for Saturday, May 11, 2013, will be held to elect Mayor, Council members for District 1, District 3, and one At-Large.
 
·      The Ordinance provides for the following:
o      Date and hours of voting on election day: Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.
o      Early Voting Polling locations within the City of McKinney proposed this year are:
§      McKinney Performing Arts Center
§      Collin County Community College Central Park Campus
§      Collin County Elections Office in McKinney
§      Fire Station #5
o      City and School District voters may vote at any of the additional Early Voting locations open under full contract services with the Collin County Elections Administration
o      Election Day Polling Places proposed this year are:
·      City Hall
·      Boyd High School
·      C.T. Eddins Elementary School
·      Slaughter Elementary School
·      Collin County Community College, Central Park Campus
·      Reuben Johnson Elementary School
 
·      Early voting will be conducted as follows:
Monday, April 29             8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Tuesday, April 30            8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Wednesday, May 1             8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Thursday, May 2             8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday, May 3            8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, May 4             8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Monday, May 6            7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, May 7             7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: The City's cost for this Joint Election will be approximately $20,000. This cost is subject to change should any of the contracting entities cancel their election. The funds for this item will come from the General Fund Operating Contingency budget.
