ITEM SUMMARY:
· The City Council along with the Chamber of Commerce has developed a Joint Legislative Agenda identifying common interests that may arise during the 83rd Texas Legislative Session.
· The PRIL Committee selected Red Media Group as its preferred consultant after interviewing two companies
· Red Media group will promote the City's interests at the state level and keep the City and Chamber updated as other applicable issues arise.
· The agreement between Red Media Group and the City and Chamber will begin December 1, 2012 and November 30, 2013.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· The City released a Request for Proposal in May 2012, and received one submittal from the previous legislative consultant, which was subsequently rejected.
· The PRIL committee went on to interview two alternative consulting firms, of which they selected RED Media group as the preferred vendor.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· There will be a monthly flat fee of $5,000 of which the City will pay one half.
· Reimbursable expenses up to $250 month of which the City will pay one half, if needed.
· Over the one year term, the cost to the City of McKinney will cost $30,000, not to exceed $32,500.
