RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of the Resolution.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· This Resolution authorizes a professional services contract to provide architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the McKinney Community Center Patio and Playground project.
· Architects Phelps/ Wood has submitted a proposal to provide professional architectural and engineering services related to the design and construction of the McKinney Community Center Patio and Playground project in an amount not to exceed $60,000.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· Architects Phelps/Wood was the original architect who designed the McKinney Community Center in 1986.
· This project will also include updating a facility restroom and addressing an accessible route from the parking lot to the building to meet the Americans with Disabilities Act standards.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· The McKinney Community Center Patio and Playground Project (PK4252) is in the approved FY13-14 Capital Improvements Program.
BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:
· On April 10, 2014, the PROS Advisory Board, recommended to City Council that Architects Phelps/Wood be awarded the professional architectural and engineering services contract for the McKinney Community Center Patio and Playground project.
