ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Resolution supports a submittal for the Safety and Access to Schools project application for the 2014 Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Call for Projects and accepts funding, if awarded, from the North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG).
* The proposed project submittal for the 2014 Transportation Alternative Program Safety and Access to Schools for McKinney is as follows:
? The installation of two in-street school crossing signs at designated school crossings on a multi-lane street with an adult crossing guard to establish a better visibility for the crossing. These signs are similar to the school crossing signs already installed at several school crossings. Project locations are as follows:
* Ridge Road at Sidney Lane for Johnson Elementary
* Glen Oaks Drive at Wildflower Drive for Glen Oaks Elementary
* Silverado Trail at Alfalfa Drive for Comstock Elementary
* Silverado Trail at Big Fork Trail for Ogle Elementary
* Westridge Boulevard at Reagan Drive for Sonntag Elementary
* Independence Parkway at Millbend Drive for Scott Elementary
* Louisiana Street at Graves Street and Virginia Street at Graves Street for Burks Elementary
* Louisiana Street at Bradley Street and the Virginia Street at Bradley Street for Caldwell Elementary
? The installation of driver feedback signage so the reduced speed limit of 20 mph within the school zone may be adhered. These signs are similar to ones already installed at several school crossings. Project locations are as follows:
