RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
• Approval of Resolution
ITEM SUMMARY:
• This Resolution authorizes a contract with Brazos Technology for Electronic Ticket Writers, Accessories and Related Services.
• This solution will allow for real time and accurate data tracking required by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement as prescribed under Local Government Code Section 1701.62.
• Electronic Ticket Writers allows for greater efficiency for the Police Department and the Municipal Court by reducing data entry requirements, increasing accuracy, and providing citizens quicker access to issued citation data.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The City issued a Request For Proposals (16-43RFP) for E-Ticket Writers, Accessories and Related Services on December 13, 2015.
• Out of 593 supplier notifications, one (1) proposal was received from Brazos Technology, on December 31, 2015.
• The proposal was reviewed by the Police Department to ensure all requirements met the needs and standards listed within the RFP.
• Brazos Technology solution is currently being utilized by the following Police Departments: Plano, Grapevine, Frisco, Hurst, Wylie, and Little Elm.
• The Police Department plans to purchase forty (40) electronic ticket writers, thirty-five (35) printers, accessories, software services, and annual maintenance.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• Funding for the initial cost of $150,958.00 is available in 001-1238-416-9230 and will be budgeted for the annual maintenance fee of $12,000.00 per year for FY17 and FY18.
