RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
· Approval of Resolution authorizing a two-year term Maintenance Reimbursement Agreement with Stonebridge Ranch Community Association, Inc.
ITEM SUMMARY:
· The City entered into this Median Maintenance Reimbursement Agreement in 1994 to provide funding to Stonebridge Ranch Community Association for maintenance of medians during development of Stonebridge in lieu of City maintenance.
· Stonebridge Ranch Community Association requested a 3% increase in cost per linear foot from the previous contract mainly due to their contractor relocating the operation of their business.
o The previous contract was for $181,947. A 3% increase would result in a new contract amount of $187,405.40.
o Staff does not recommend approval of an increase at this time.
· Rain and freeze sensors are installed in all new irrigations systems and existing systems will be retrofitted. Stonebridge Ranch will also incorporate efforts to prevent irrigation overspray on impervious surfaces.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· The City of McKinney has contracted with the Stonebridge Ranch Community Association since January 1994 on a Median Reimbursement Agreement.
· The City entered into this Median Maintenance Reimbursement Agreement to provide supplemental funding to the Stonebridge Ranch Community Association for the maintenance of City medians with the Stonebridge development in lieu of City maintenance.
· The covered median area is 49.40 acres.
· The term of contract would be from January 1, 2011 to December 31, 2012.
