ITEM SUMMARY:
• The Celt is requesting $15,000 for advertising, marketing and promotion of the 2018 McKinney Celtic Music Festival.
• The event will be held on June 15-17, 2017 around the downtown square (The Celt, Dempsey’s Place, Filtered).
• Estimated attendance is 700-800 with no admission charge and will feature 30 separate acts on four stages.
• 2018 will mark the second annual Celtic Music Festival in McKinney.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The Celt is an authentic Irish pub that exemplifies true Irish heritage and service, with a focus on events - live music, trivia, sporting events, open mic night, etc.
• The goal of The Celt is to spread Irish heritage through the show of local Irish bands to create a fun and authentic atmosphere to entertain families and Irish tradition seekers.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• MCDC’s allocation for Promotional and Community Event grants for FY 18 is $150,000, $75,000 for Cycle I applicants, and $75,000 for Cycle II applicants.
• The Celt is a first-time applicant for a Promotional and Community Event Grant from MCDC.
