Consider/Discuss/Act on an Amended Agreement with Red Media Group
Summary
ITEM SUMMARY:
• The PRIL Committee selected Red Media Group as its preferred consultant for the 84th Legislative Session and was satisfied with services received during that session.
• The amended contract will also include the City of McKinney and the McKinney Chamber.
• Red Media group will promote the City’s interests at the state level and keep the City, Chamber, and MEDC updated as other applicable issues arise.
• The agreement between Red Media Group and the City, Chamber, and MEDC will begin December 1, 2015 and end November 30, 2017.
• The City Council approved Resolution 2015-12-150 approving the amended agreement.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• The PRIL Committee competitively procured Red Media Group in May 2012 for consulting services during the 83rd Legislative Session.
• The PRIL Committee went on to interview two alternative consulting firms, of which they selected Red Media Group as the preferred vendor.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• There will be a monthly flat fee of $5,000 of which the MEDC will pay one third.
• Reimbursable expenses up to $3,000 per year of which the MEDC will pay one third, if needed.
• Over the two year term, the cost to the MEDC will be $40,000, not to exceed $42,000.
