                     Approval of Resolution

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     “Coming Through the Rye”, a cast reproduction of a Remington sculpture, has been offered to the City by Linda Pinkham, a McKinney resident.

                     The Parks Department would like to display the bronze sculpture in the administrative offices.   

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     The original bronze, created in 1902, is one of the largest pieces created by Remington - standing 29” high by 30” wide and weighing approximately 300 pounds. The reproduction is similar in size and is also cast in bronze.

 

 FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     The sculpture is valued at $3,285.

                     No additional or special insurance is required.

 

BOARD OR COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION:

                     The Arts Commission, at the January 21, 2016 meeting, recommended acceptance of the sculpture by the City.
