ITEM SUMMARY:
• The City of McKinney is a recipient of Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) funding from the Department of Treasury through Collin County to prepare for, respond to, or prevent the Coronavirus, and to use funding to provide rent and utility assistance to low-to-moderate income households impacted by COVID-19.
• Under this program, Catholic Charities has been acting as a subrecipient of the City of McKinney, providing case management and application services for the funding.
• Due to the success of the McKinney program, Collin County has allocated additional funds in the amount of $3,000,000 for direct services and program delivery, to the City of McKinney to assist McKinney residents impacted by the COVID 19 virus.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
• In February 2021, Agenda Item # 21-0169, City Council approved a contract with Catholic Charities of $4,937,781 to provide direct services (rental and utility assistance) and $438,914 for program delivery from the Treasury funds, through Collin County.
• $109,728 was allocated to the City of McKinney to provide program delivery.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
• There will be no financial impact to the General Fund. Treasury Round Two COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) Funds will be tracked under fund 083.
