RECOMMENDED PARK BOARD ACTION:
* Approval of the Recommendation.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* The renovation of Old Settler's Park and aquatic facility was identified as a top priority in the 2017 Parks, Recreation, Open Space, Trails and Streetscape Master Plan, as well as the renovation and expansion of Old Settler's Recreation Center which is currently underway and expected to be complete at the end of this year.
* Parkhill (formerly Schrickel Rollins/PSC, Inc.) completed a master plan and opinion of probable construction cost to renovate Old Settler's Park in July 2020.
* Based upon their master plan design and quality of work, Parkhill is requested to provide design and construction administration services for a portion of program elements contained within the Old Settler's Park Phasing Plan - Construction area 'A' (July 2020).
* The park will be designed primarily for passive recreation with an emphasis on providing multi-functional spaces for civic and community events.
