ITEM SUMMARY:
· A second set of tractor and rotary cutter are needed to maintain vegetation on the airport.
· The City has received a quote from John Deere Company through its dealer, AG-Power, Inc. of McKinney via the Texas Association of School Boards Cooperative Contract (no.373-11), for the purchase of --
o John Deere 6130 Cab Tractor for $53,685.52
o John Deere CX15 Flex-Wing Rotary Cutter for $15,089.34
o Total price = $68,774.86.
· These items will be rendered in FY 2012; therefore, funding will come from the FY 2012 budget.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
· With the completion of the Replacement Runway project in October 2012, the amount of land that the airport must maintain will increase from 334 acres to 602 acres, an increase of 268 acres.
· Airport Maintenance Technicians maintain grass lands on the airport to comply with Federal Aviation Administration mandates for safety and security and overall appearance of the airport grounds.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
· Upon City Council approval, staff will make necessary budget transfers within existing appropriations.
