RECOMMENDED ACTION:
* Approve recommendation to the City Council.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* The Wilson Creek Hike and Bike trail project extends the trail from the Wilson Creek Softball Complex to Eldorado Parkway which will eventually lead to the Heard Museum.
* A total of 6 bids were submitted and accepted.
* North Rock Construction submitted the lowest bid for the construction of the project for an amount of $676,692.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* David C. Baldwin, Inc. along with Staff recommend awarding the bid to North Rock Construction for the construction of the Wilson Creek Hike and Bike Trail project.
* If approved, the contract allows for construction to begin in March 2017 with a July 2017 deadline for completion.
FINANCIAL SUMMARY:
* The Wilson Creek Hike and Bike Trail project (PK4326) is a FY16-17 Capital Improvements Project funded by General Obligation Funds and Collin County grants in an amount of $886,700.
* Staff will be requesting additional construction funds in an amount of $100,000 to City Council in a concurrent CIP Amendment to be appropriated from PK1213 Hike and Bike Trail Construction.
