RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:                     

                     Approval of Resolution.

 

ITEM SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes City Manager to execute a contract with Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter, L.L.P., for engineering services for the design of the Hardin Blvd. Elevated Storage Tank Project.

                     This project will provide a 2 MG elevated water storage tank and a 24-inch water supply line along the south side of Virginia Parkway from Hardin Blvd. to the proposed site and a connection to the existing dead end 12-inch water line near the Mallard Lakes subdivision. 

                     Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter, L.L.P. has submitted a proposal for these services in the amount of $367,000.

 

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: 

                     This project is recommended in the Water System Master Plan and is needed to maintian water pressure in the southern portion of the 850 Service Area.

                     The property has been acquired and a sign has been installed to inform citizens of the proposed tank.

 

FINANCIAL SUMMARY: 

                     This Resolution authorizes a design contract with Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter, L.L.P. for an amount not to exceed $405,000.

                     Funding for this project is included in the Capital Improvements Program in WA9117.
