RECOMMENDED CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
* Approval of the Ordinance.
ITEM SUMMARY:
* This Ordinance will accomplish the following:
? Modify the effective reduced speed school times to reflect the changes to the Prosper ISD school schedule for Rock Hill High School.
? Modify the effective reduced speed school times to reflect the changes made by Frisco Staff for Roach Middle School.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
* Prosper ISD has adjusted the school schedules for their middle and high schools to allow more time for buses to travel between the schools. The Prosper ISD elementary school schedules have not been changed.
* Rock Hill High School is located on Coit Road within the City of Frisco. With the City Limit between McKinney and Frisco being the centerline of Coit Road, this Ordinance will only modify the effective school times for the northbound lanes of Coit Road to reflect the new school schedules. The effective school times for Rock Hill High School along the southbound lanes will be modified by the City of Frisco.
* Frisco Staff extended the effective school times for Roach Middle School on Independence Parkway for pedestrians walking to the adjacent Heritage High School.
* Roach Middle School is located within the City of Frisco but adjacent to the City Limit between McKinney and Frisco. The northern 300 feet of the reduced speed school zone on Independence Parkway is within McKinney. This Ordinance will only modify the effective school times of the reduced speed school zone within McKinney. ...
